Jaguar XJXC clean up iGone fallout removal

Posted on

One of my favourite models of car, the XJS came to Healeys after being sat in a barn for years. The customer agreed that she needed some work but wasn’t sure exactly how much. By simply stroking the body once it had been washed with Bubbles (we use Bubbles on jobs like this as we know we’re going to wax the car), a roughness could be felt. This either means poor paint which we can do nothing with, or it means fallout contamination, something we can deal with.

A simple spray with iGone revealed lots of the tell tale deep red trace streaks showing the quantity of iron on this 30 year old car. 2 coatings of iGone removed the majority leaving a bit to remove with the clay mitt.

Once totally cleaned, she was machine polished with Restore and Shine which was then followed by a coat of Slippery When Wet.

A tip to feel for fallout is to place your hand in a clean sandwich bag and gently, stroke the cars surface, you’ll hear a noise, this is fallout, you need iGone now!

VW Polo clean up for a birthday present with iGone

A regular client of Healey’s wanted this little Polo prepared for her daughters 17th birthday. After a wash with Super 8 Bubbles shampoo and a few squirts of iGone Fallout Remover, the trial sections showed it needed quite a lot of work. This is a great example of iGone doing its thing prior to waxing.

Once the iGone has stopped flowing, just rinse or wash away and try it again, sometimes it hits it in one go, sometimes it’ll take a few goes. This doesn’t mean iGone’s rubbish, it just means there’s lots to remove…

Remember never use it in direct sunlight and keep it wet for best results. If it does crystallise, just reapply..
