Paint Swirls
Caused by:
Poor washing techniques including sponges, chamois leathers and old equipment.
Remedies:
The best way to reduce this problem is to use a wash mitt like we use, they hold lots of soapy water that help keeps dirt flowing and provide lots of lubrication. They’re also easy to wash. The only way to remove these is to have your car machine polished.
Fallout:
A contamination caused by heavy metals in the atmosphere, most commonly found on cars that spend time by railways or in flight paths, aviation exhaust falls on our cars believe it or not. To find whether your car is contaminated, wash it and give it a good rinse. Pop your hand into a clean plastic bag and carefully, stroke the surface. If there’s a hitchy sound, you’ve got Fallout!!! Not all is lost though.
The best way to remove this is firstly with a Fallout remover, this dissolves the metal and turns red as it works. Once it’s done what it does, it’s just a case of rinsing or washing away. You may need to do it a couple of times to get rid of everything. We’ve chosen this mix so it isn’t going to do any damage, we’ve left it to dry into crystals on wheels and it just rinses off with no damage, but don’t do that please!
Glass, the Nemesis!
Using our Clean and Clear gives you great results but it takes time. There is no such thing as a ‘quick’ glass cleaner, it can smear easily, you’ll miss some both when applying and removing, it’s a nightmare.
We’ve found the best way, is a small amount on a glass cloth or paper towel (must be dust free) and rub into the surface. Do the outside first and finish by going up and down. Then go inside, drop the windows a tadge ( I have a couple of customers that always check that I’ve done this on their cars), wipe the top and then wipe the inside, rubbing and working it in, left to right. Your cloth should go dirty, Range Rover rear screens are the worst for this.
Then start wiping off the outside, oh and don’t forget get into the corners, once the outside is clear, do the inside, now you can see where you’ve been. Don’t do them in the evening, you’ll be chasing your breath for hours and don’t do it in the direct sun, it’ll just smear. Take your time and you’ll get great results…
